Despite some of the twists being pretty self-evident, I still really enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the specificity of the characters- a child with autism, the polish-American identity, and I appreciated seeing a holocaust historical fiction told from a different perspective (catholic family).

Oh wow I loved this. It hit me right in the feels.

I loved the aspect of the perspective during the war and then the modern day perspective. It had me tearing up so many times.

It hurts my heart to think this was a real event and people really had to go through the constant fear and unknown.
