Definitely took some time for me to get into this. It wasn’t my favorite, but overall a cute read. Shane’s dirty talk is amazing. The end made the beginning worth it. Willa is Ginger’s sister from Protecting What’s His. That was a big factor in my continuing to read because I loved Ginger and Derek so much.
just kinda bored. their chemistry isn't working for me
We get introduced to Willa and her sister, Ginger, in Ginger’s book Protecting What’s His from the Line of Duty series. This is a stunning book about two people trying to find themselves coming off of intensely painful periods in their lives and end up running head on into each other in the process. The sexual tension is palpable from the moment they meet. The spice is next level. Willa and Shane are two planets that orbit each other until they finally crash together in a clash of heat. Tessa Bailey is a master of dirty talk and does not disappoint in this story. I wish there was a continuation for Faith and Brian so I could get more of the Claymore Inn and Ireland.
Willa is coming off of a 2 year relationship and trying to get back to herself after working hard to live up to her ex’s idealistic view of her. She enters a photography contest, and her prize for winning is a month long trip to Dublin, Ireland. A perfect getaway trip alone to get her comfortably back to herself.
She immediately meets Shane, a sexy as sin, rude, stubborn, broody asshole of an Irishman. After Shane delightfully pisses off Willa, she ends up shaking him to get a cab ride back to the Claymore Inn, where she is supposed to stay for the duration of her trip. Little did she know that Shane is Shane Claymore, the owner of the Claymore Inn and a Formula 1 driver.
Shane and Willa challenge each other in ways they didn’t realize they needed challenging. The refuse to talk about the impending end date on their relationship, and eventually it comes to a head in the last week of Willa’s stay at the Inn. Their relationship is built off of brutal honesty, even when Willa shies away from it. Shane forces her to see herself and to stop being who Evan tried to make her into. The more Willa pushes and pushes Shane, and the harder he fights for her and their relationship.

Spoiler
After forcefully and painfully peeling back layers between each other through the first half of Willa’s trip, they finally stop toeing around their sexual tension and let themselves go. They go from insulting each other to ripping clothes off each other after their lust hits a peak and they can’t stand it any longer.Shane and Willa challenge each other in ways they didn’t realize they needed challenging. This book. I'm telling you, Tessa Bailey continues to impress me and make me fall in love with her work. She's easily become one of my favorite authors, there isn't one piece of her work that I don't like. Unfixable is not only as good as the rest of her work, but it's better... an instant favorite! I couldn't put down this addicting romance for a second.
With Willa, our main character, I found myself relating to her so much and that instantly drew me in because I understood her actions and emotions and love for photography so well. I also love when you get to see characters grow and change from the beginning to the end, yet still keep their strong selves intact and Willa is one of those. She's overcome and grown from so much and I loved watching her Ireland adventure... especially with someone like Shane along for the ride.
Shane Claymore... yeah holy heck on an Irish Popsicle stick, this boy is all sorts of sexy. Not only is he tall, built well, has blue eyes... but he races cars, too. Oh but there's so much more to Shane than that. I love how he takes care of his family, how he's taken over the business and being responsible yet at the same time being the dangerously sexy fella we all love to fall in love with. I absolutely loved watching Shane and Willa get underneath each other's skin and change themselves for the better. Just loved this couple.
More than that though all the characters make you love them... Kitty, Faith, Brian, and even Patrick. Plus you get to see Derek and Ginger from Protecting What's His, one of the first books I've read from Tessa and it was so great to see them happy. Overall, this book has all the hotness, all the drama, and all of the sigh-with-content happiness. Couldn't have loved it more.

I really enjoyed this story. I loved both Willa and Shane and their stubbornness was comical at times. What I liked was that both characters stayed true to themselves throughout the story. Yes, Willa did have a little breakdown there towards the end but it was short lived and such a small part of the story. The slow burn romance is just perfect for these two. Shane wasn't overly alpha which I loved. I also liked that we got to revisit with Willa's sister Gwen and brother in law Derek.
This book make me think I over rated the last book I read! Loved Willa and Shane's story.
3.5
I thought this was a pretty good book. It wasn't overly original, but I didn't find it to be quite like anything else I have read. It wasn't too long and it was sweet and romantic, and not too sappy about it, either.
In this story, Willa, the heroine, has just gone through a break-up and had more or less fled to Dublin to get herself back together. She got to go to Ireland as a prize for winning a photography contest. The contest set her up to stay at Claymore Inn (which also has a popular bar attached). This is where she really becomes part of the Claymore family's life. She forges a connection with everyone there, despite her intentions to have care-free fun for the month she is there. The deepest connection, is of course with a boy: Shane. His father passed away so he is the man of the house trying to take care of his sister and mother. However, he's got demons and dreams that make it hard to stick around. Willa really helps shake up the whole household and cause them (and herself) to question how they really want their lives to go on. Namely, Shane has to decide if he can get over his familial issues and do what is right for him and his family while dealing with his feelings for Willa, while Willa has to learn to trust herself and be open to being loved by someone other than her sister.
The story is more fun than compelling. It held my interest well enough throughout. It wasn't the deepest of stories, even though the author definitely had the option to go deeper into things. Some of Willa's issues with starting another relationship pretty much just disappeared after she freaked out and were never really discussed again, which isn't very realistic, but it fit into the fun plot.

This was my first Tessa Bailey book. So excited to read more of them. I really loved that it took place in Ireland. I felt like the book moved too quick though, there was much more potential for the characters to have more depth. I didn’t think I would be cool with a hot MC in suspenders, but thanks Shane for proving me wrong. Only because he is Irish, it works. Willa wasn’t my favorite MC. Read the book in a day, enjoyed it, it was a nice contemporary break from fantasy.
Willa was so much different here than in the first book. I had a hard time connecting to her.
I always wanted her to have her own book, but damn I wish I didn't. She was whiny, her monologues bored me, her freaking way to keep people away made me want to shake her.
I wanted to read something light and funny. I got something annoying and boring. Still I love Tessa Bailey and can't wait to read a new book.
I wouldn't mind a book about Patrick. He seems fun.
Ginger and Derek will stay ma favorite couple. I could read lots of books about them without feeling bored.
