I think it’s too scary for its intended audience. Jasper isn’t doing too well in school. But the purple crayon he found turned all that around. But it got to be too much. He could not get rid of it. It kept coming back with more and more threatening messages. It reminded me of Jumanji. But for a much younger audience.
This was adorable and clever and creepy and I really loved everything about it.
Jasper Rabbit is one of the best literary rabbits for youngsters! These books are fantastic! I love how the elements of the previous books come into play in this one as well! AND Jasper learns how to study for his own, and the crayon moves on to the next critter in "need". So good, so funny, so creepy!
Timely and important, the book 2022 needs. Also that's a really creepy crayon.

Lord of the Rings my precious vibes but with a crayon. Incredibly suspenseful for all readers, but it's especially surprising being a book for small children. This book may sit with me for a while.
