Oh my god. I felt like I was 12 and reading the hunger games for the first time again. I knew what was gonna happen but I didn't know it was gonna happen like that!!!!. It was a slow start but towards the end it hit you with the sucker punch of emotions that completely shattered he especially with the epilogue and how haymich talked about katniss. Was broke my heart completely at wellie's death. Fuck it hurt man

This book made me cry

Honestly nostalgia aside this book hits hard if you let it. It forces you to see the charecters as complex, broken, and flawed. You truly get to see how special the OG trilogy was to get the results it did. 
It also hits hard in the context of everything going on and honestly makes me feel guilty of how little I'm doing.

Suzanne Collins remains my favorite author, a genius, and a visionary. I adore her work and how it makes me feel every time. Haymitch’s story is soul crushing. We knew what the ending was, and yet the journey there was surprising and gut wrenching. I couldn’t put this story down.
