Another great addition to the series. I liked the incorporation of Lucy Grays music and lyrics although we still don’t really know what happened to her. The back stories help the world building of the main series and tie things together

This book definitely assumes the reader knows whats going on in the world already, which I think is fine, but I would love to see much more about how things were different 25 years previous to the main series.

I haven’t read Songbirds and Snakes (but did see the movie) and probably should have before reading this book.

Another review I read stated that it’s obvious that this book was written after the original series - forcing characters to go in a certain direction and I kind of agree with that. 

However - I loved reading about all of the people Haymitch loved. I love seeing that he was capable of so much fight and care - I might just reread the whole series again to get more context  on how his past affected his future

(or watch the movies…that might be faster)
