The story is beautiful. The characters, flawed and human and perfect. The story telling not so good. i wish i could give this book 5 stars but the writing was lacking for me.

2nd re-listen. I'm actually dropping my rating to 3.5 stars, but I have to round up instead of down, since K.C. Kelly's narration is full 4.5 stars.
Frog was my first time with K.C. Kelly narrating and darn he has an amazing voice for cowboys. Really good performance, with a variety of voices and feeling.
Frog was my favorite story of Mary's, and although in the beginning of the review it says 2nd truth is closer to 5th, anyway, and listening to it for the n-th time I realised, especially since I'm re-listening to all of Mary's back catalogue, that similarities emerge between it and her stories after.
For example the huge mix dog that is a sweetie unless you come upon their person fast (see Floodgates and Marshals), MC that everyone loves but is humble (see every MC of Mary's ever) and around this release is where Mary's very, Very, VERY detailed oriented descriptions of clothing and things began.
Frog truly is an amazing story of second chance, coming home and surrendering, but it's being drown by all the above, taking the story from believable to eye twitching. It deserves to be read and listened to, just maybe focus on the important parts.

I’ve been meaning to try a Mary Calmes book for ages. And when I read a short story by her in the Heart2Heart Anthology, I knew I needed to read one soon. This one had good reviews, was short and wasn’t part of a series so it felt low risk to try. I’m so glad I did. She has a lovely writing style and I fell for Web and Cy in a big way. I’m hit or miss with liking children in romance books but the ones in these were too cute. Throw in some serious heat and I was a happy camper. I do believe in going to try another of hers immediately.

I loved this book! I was a little hesitant, because when you've heard so much good about a book then it can be an anti-climax, but this was wonderfully sweet. The realisation of how important Web was to Cyrus was heart-warming - I couldn't help but adore Web!! I really enjoyed it!

I’ve read this author before. This is a mm contemporary story set in the USA. Main characters are Weber and Cyrus. Older men aged 44 and 42. This story is told from Weber’s POV. A beautiful story of finding love with all the obstacles in the way.

reading about weber with the kids, my heart melted. im not usually into books where characters have children to take care of, especially when the kids take up a significant amount of pages, but this was just so cute.
i would've liked to have read some chapters from cyrus' point of view, however. i won't complain too much about that, though, since weber is such a delightful character. it's just definitely a downside that i feel i didn't get an in-depth impression of cyrus.
