This one was OK... where the previous two books in the series had great humour & banter between the main & side characters. This one lacked that, which lessened some of the entertainment factor for me.

Julian isn't your typical ripped/muscular MMC and I was looking forward to having a different type of male body represented in a romance, he is treated awfully by men on dating apps for not being what society deems ad conventionally attractive and his mother certainly doesn't help Julians self confidence and that is how he finds himself still a virgin when approaching his 35th birthday. Seamus is Julians colleague who up until recently has considered himself to be straight but has always been a bit bi-curious & when Julian drunkenly confesses his virginal status and how he doesn't want to turn 35 with that intact Seamus thinks this is the perfect opportunity to be a good friend and help Julian out while also scratching his own curios itch.

Like I said above, this instalment lacked the humour previous books in this series had, and therefore, I didn't enjoy this as much as the others. It was entertaining but nothing really memorable for me. 🌶

This was just ok. I didn’t like this friends to lovers story. It made no sense to me and while I’ve gotten used to Truman’s over the top situations, I just didn’t buy this one. Like at all.

I think this was my favorite of the South Rock series. It deals with some more difficult topics—Julian's self-loathing over his body image is heartbreaking (and relatable), and Seamus's guilt over the way his gambling addiction hurt his ex was very well done. I'm a sucker for stories where a character learns to ask for help, not to mention difficult parent-child relationships, and this had both. I also appreciated Julian's arc re: sex and virginity.
