I asked for an ARC for this new book because I was already familiar with the author and one of the stories set in this world. Thanks for the copy

I hesitated asking for it because of the French teacher description. I dreaded another book with butchered French but to AJ Truman’s credit there was not a word of French in it and I loved this!
Seriously, I’m begging authors to stop using languages they don’t speak in their books or to stop thinking google translate will do a good job…It might seems cool to have a foreign language mixed with english but if it’s not well done it just looks ridiculous. So better not do it or if you really need it for your story please hire someone native to do it! So kudos to AJ for not doing that here I really appreciated it!

The story was kind of straightforward, sweet and the s*x vanilla but both MC were fighting their own demons which played a big part in their relationship.

I laughed at Julian’s inner monologues, loved the candle scene (a sweet idea) and the resolution with the friends / Seamus. The grandma was also a fun addition…

I was really happy to see a fat MC (I wish it had been him on the cover, it would have been a nice change. I assume it’s supposed to be Seamus instead?) BUT there was one dialogue that I really didn’t like (and I’m sure other readers won’t) when Seamus tell Julian “You’re not fat…you look good” like both things can’t be synonymous??

Overall I had a good time with Romance Languages but I wish we had a bit less time with all the friends (especially if you read this as a standalone) and a bit more scenes of the 2MC getting to know each other a bit more outside school/ the bedroom. I also wish we had more scenes of them kissing (of course it made the ones they did have more sweet like the one in the car)

Oh and fun note: there’s one scene when the gay MC is shocked that his “straight” friend (the 2nd MC) knows what lube is and he answers “it’s the 21st century, straight people know what lube is”
It’s not just that straight people know about it, it’s that you don’t need to be a gay man to use lube. A lot of people have to use it for different reasons so I thought it was a bit ridiculous, like only gay men had the monopoly of lubes

Very cute, sweet, and quite funny! Though really, who would put a condom on something for the first time in front of students??? You never do anything for the first time in front of students, they’re ruthless! Postpone that lesson and try it out first at home. Still, the scene was very funny. I also thought Seamus’ videos were clever!

Loved it and read on kindle unlimited
