I REALLY wanted to give this book five stars. So many juicy tropes! Hot Irish musician, marriage of convenience, Broadway setting BUT something just didn’t land for me. Loved the audiobook narration.

If this was me reading this any other time, my rating would be a 3. But this is me now. I started the year with some heavy reading and was looking for a terrible romance. I got it!. Girl crushes on boy for 6 months before they meet. Boy and Girl get married for a green card. Boy and girl stop communicating well and then feelings are hurt. See?? Terrible. But I.WAS.HERE.FOR.IT. Calvin is from Ireland and the accent that I had in my head was worth it.

It was kind of hard to get through the first few chapters. But That was my fault. But super good book!!! I loved it.

I definitely felt anxious towards the end since the tale took an unexpected turn. But it all turned out fine, which left me breathing a sigh of relief.
I definitely finished this in 3 days and stayed up until 3 am right now trying to get through it because I could not put it down.

I’m really thankful that I couldn’t find similarities between this book and the Unhoneymooners which I previously read. Because I could find similarities in books by Lauren Landish so I had to take a detour from her books for a while.

This book genuinely surprised me overall because of how good it was. There were points in it where I wanted to cry straight tears because I felt for the characters and that never happens. This hit home in a sense.

Also I found similarities between this book and my life, not like plot wise, but LMM was mentioned and I fangirled inside for about a minute before I composed and kept reading.

Gay characters in this book which I enjoyed some lgbtq representation. But 2 characters genuinely pissed me off, which is how they were written and what they were supposed to do. But I felt hatred for them, which again never happens.
