Stunning novel, gorgeously told.  The way Celeste Ng wove each perspective and timeline together was absolutely exquisite.  Well deserving of all the acclaim that it has received.

One thing I always struggle with when it comes to Ng's books, is that she has a tendency to give her characters this one defining trait that makes up their whole personality and that's it. So most of them feel too one-dimensional, too obsessed with being one thing and one thing only, which makes it hard for me to really connect with them.

sweet at times and heart wrenching at others. speaks to white womanhood in a real and exposing way - so much so that you want to slap the characters in the face every once in a while. end left me frustrated.
