Homerun Proposal (Orleans University Book 1)
Rating : ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Holy cuteness overload! This book had me hooked from the dedication... I mean an MMC with Freddie Prince Jr. vibes and an FMC that has a Mia Thermopolis moment??? What's not to love already? This was such an adorable, (extra) spicy read. I absolutely loved the main characters, Hallie and Lane. Hallie was a quicky, supernatural loving girl with low confidence. And Lane, what to say about him other than... 🥵? He was Orleans U's number one baseball player (on and off the field), and had the talk to prove it! However, even though they were complete opposites, I think they fit together so well, and I loved how Lane continuously built Hallie up! Their relationship and emotional connection was perfectly created by Maren Moore. Also, that ending...so cute! I also really loved the curated playlist that went with this book! I feel like it gave off the perfect vibes. The plot was nicely paced. I just wanted more.

I love sport romances. I eat them up every single time.

however, I wanted to absolutely love this book. And certain aspects of it I did, but honestly something about it just felt so cringey for me that I had to skim read past some parts to get through it.

I was about halfway through when I realized that I just couldn't do it anymore and had to skim read. Maybe it was Lane calling her "baby" that felt forced for me. Or honestly their sex scenes as well gave me the ick. I wish I could give a definitive answer on why this gave me the ick on more than one ocassion.

Again, I wanted to love this book but some things happen that gave me the ick and I just couldn't do it. I'm sorry. Really I am.

This was just as amazing as I thought it would be!!

Land is Hallie’s childhood best friend Eli’s older brother. She’s crushed on him for years and now they’re roommates! Hallie is a virgin and is desperate to have all of her firsts since she’s now a freshman in college. She planned to write a letter proposing to her childhood bestie to take her virginity, but gives it to the wrong brother

All Hallie wanted was for her best friend to take her virginity after a home run. She made the proposal and set it out, but might  of gave it to the wrong guy. That guy being Lane Collins her best friend’s brother.

Those cartoon covers always get you. I went into this book thinking a fun baseball read with a romance vibe. This was a lot spicer than I thought, but I didn’t mind it too much. I enjoyed having Hallie open up about her own personal struggles and being able to connect to her. I loved how the communication with everyone in the story was so good. Lane was written so well, down to earth for Hallie. Always making sure she was comfortable with everything and knowing he was always by her side. I enjoyed getting just the right amount of spice and sports in the book. So excited to keep reading more of Maren!

This was such a cute and fun sports romance! I absolutely adored the audio of it because it was done so well, and kept my attention all through out.

Lane is a charismatic sweetheart. I adored how sweet he was on Hallie, and how he loved her exactly for who she is. I loved how Hallie embraces herself and everything she loves. She was so fun and quirky. These two overall were just so stinking adorable.
