novellas are difficult for romance to blossom, but this was sweet and believable - a nice intro to the series.

Quick novella. Sassy grandmother. Arranged marriage. Forced proximity - bodyguard. Sparring. Both involved in families.

Pregnancy/birth peril. Random attack. Dead grandpa.

I really liked this novella. It was fun, and I liked all the side characters in her family.

Maybe I'm a little bit biased with this one:

1) I adore this series already and reading this novella has made me want to go back and reread the series, to catch glimpses of Emmett and his mate and also to mentally prepare myself for Shield of Winter.

2) The heroine is a curvy brunette called Ria. Seriously. Suffice to say it's rare to see my name in print (one awful example in movies - a mouthy prostitute in Crank 2 besmirches my good name) so I was pleased my namesake was such a delight.

Loved it. I hope more of the other short stories are released as ebooks.
