It was okay but i got a bit bored. i did really enjoy the beginning and it got a little interesting towards the end.
The last pages with Ishu and Hani were the cutest!

this was absolutely precious. i laughed out loud at ishu’s inner dialogue, i got angry on hani’s behalf, and i even cried for nik. queer bipoc deserve stories this good. the ending was just a teensy bit rushed to me. loved this book so much :)

This one was good.

I can’t tell if it’s because I listened to the audiobook that I didn’t enjoy this one so much. Either way, this one was still cute.

I think this one was one of the times where after they get together, I like them better. They were cute when they weren’t, but I absolutely loved when they got together, and how they got together ughhhh it was perfect.

And props to the audiobook because when Ishu talks about kissing Hani, the way her voice gets soft and husky??? Omgggggg 😩

Hani deserves so much better than her friends. They pissed me off whenever they opened their mouths.

WHY did we not get a cameo with the other gay Muslim at the end? Ugh I would have loved to see Hani and them interact

A really cute slow burn!

Jaigirdar, you're on autobuy for me! I really seriously cannot tell whether I loved this book or Henna Wars better, because they were both perfect to me. Hani and Ishu are such new and fun characters, and the complicated levels and layers of their already existing relationship was so fun to unpack in the midst of this messy fake dating scheme. I also found the ways Jaigirdar wrote Hani's friends to be heartbreakingly real. When I started working in a middle school, I don't know why, but I expected kids to be more progressive than my age was in school, but I was shocked to see a lot of the same racism and homophobia being spread through the halls. Hani and Ishu had a lot to say, and I loved every second of it! Can't wait to see what Jaigirdar writes next.

A new favourite book for sure.
I fell in love with this book from the very first page and it just warmed my heart so much. The writing style is beautiful and easy to follow but also taught me a lot and gave interesting insights to our main protagonists. I felt that the book flowed incredibly and always kept me gripped and immersed. I devoured this book and it is definitely another contender for all time favourite book, this was just incredible and I want to immediately reread it despite the amount of books on my looming TBR.
