I’m so sad because I thought I would love this book and I was trying SO hard to love it, but I just ended up feeling nothing at all.
After the first 20 pages I thought it was pretty good because I still thought there was more to come but honestly.. there is not. This book is literally about nothing. Yes, the representation is amazing and exactly what we need more of, that is for sure, but that’s literally the only interesting thing about this book. My main problem was definitely the fact that everything was just so flat. The characters were so stereotypical, they had no personality whatsoever, and I’m not even talking about their non-existent past. Ishu liked studying. That’s it. And Hani? She didn’t even have a hobby! Not a single thing she actually liked and was passionate about. Just her terrible friends. So even though I was trying so hard, it was just impossible to care for the characters. Besides, even the plot is just the most basic fake dating plot you could think of.
So sad to say this because I barely ever DNF books because I hate it, but this one was putting me in a really bad reading slump so I decided to just let it go because it wasn’t worth the frustration and my precious summer break time before I have to read only for school again. So yeah. But it really did have so much potential. :((((
