DID NOT FINISH: 75%

DNF’ed at 75%

Could I have pushed through just another hour to finish it? Sure. Do I want to? No.

Okay look I didn’t expect much going into this book. I just wanted something fun and hot. And it didn’t deliver.

First I did NOT like Galen. Why are you going like YO that man you almost married before was not man enough for you. And who’s man enough for you? Me. When you literally just met her again and properly talked to her for the first time in so long. Like do you even know her?? Who are you to decide that??

And then small thing but it annoyed me - why have these rich people NEVER had SUSHI????????

Spice was not spicy. I’m 75% into the book and I was not given the hot spice that I was promised.

And the romance?? What romance??? Sure they had sexual tension but you can’t convince me that they’re genuinely into each other as human beings.

Last thing I disliked the writing because who use “luvuh” or whatever that was in a book? Just feels fanfic-y for me but maybe I’m just not the target audience for this.

So yeah, I DNF’ed this because I’m just too bored of it and I don’t care enough about the characters.

Love this book!!

Down For The Count was a solid 3 star book until the last 20% of the story that really annoyed me so I had to remove a star.

I didn't like the heroine at all and don't get me started about her mother!

I felt like the plot had potential but the execution wasn't good at all- the characters weren't developed enough and I just couldn't warm up to Galen and Lacey - I didn't really feel the romance and love between them.

Good quick read

Got this as a free book, but it was a great read. Fun and likable characters, steamy love scenes, and a plot that moves at a good pace. I will definitely be looking for more titles by Christine Bell.

SO CUTE

Fun, quick read. The chemistry was off the charts, and Galen was my type of hero. Sexy, romantic, and a complete Alpha who can communicate and build up his woman so she knows her value without him? YES! Lacey was no slouch in the heroine department either. Sweet, smart, sexy with some confidence issues, but not so much that she was a mass of insecurity. She was real and likeable, and I loved her finally sticking up for herself.

We meet Lacey as she finds her groom having sex with her best friend on their wedding day - fun! She really rips into him which is satisfying, and then she escapes on her honeymoon with Galen, her other best friend's older brother. I'd probably rate this with 3.5 stars since the premise was a bit much, but the story was fun overall.

Loved it
