Jodi Picoult's book always seem multi-layered to me. This book is no different.
At times it seemed a bit too layered. It had a bit too many characters and confused me a bit at times. But overall a very satisfying read. The twist at the end is obvious a mile away. But that doesn't take away from it's impact.

I know this is probably an unpopular opinion, but I had the hardest time getting through this one. The subject matter was so sensitive and one that deserves THE MOST but I kept getting lost in things that didn’t matter. For instance, a character who talks in haiku’s. Sisters names that were odd. The switching back and forth so much from history to present wasn’t smoothly done at times and I would tune out and have to re-read pages at a time.

Now, maybe it just was not vibing with my current brain capacity
