The only reason I'm not giving this book 5 stars is because I don't believe it needed an insta-love story between Sage and Leo. It wasn't believable at all, and while I can understand why the relationship between them serves the plot, the fact that they go from 0 to 100 in a matter of days completely breaks the narrative for me..

On the other hand, I loved the story of Minka, if "love" is even an appropriate word in this situation, with all the atrocities that she and Darija have experienced in the concentration camps. I also love the fictional story about Anja that she's writing, as well as the story of Josef. 

Check TWs, it's a very hard read.
