I loved the characters, especially the heartwarming sisterhood between Minka and Darija. This book was so painful to read, but too painful to put down.

Disappointedly, I've noticed a pattern that two-thirds of the way through Jodi's books, the plot is amazing, but then tends to falter as she struggles to deliver a satisfying ending.
*Spoiler Alert*

This ending fell flat and lost its emotional hold on me. Sage's ultimate decision also seemed dumb and disappointing.
