This book probably isn’t for pet lovers. The pace was slow and I could NOT get over the fact that most of the people didn’t care about the dog going missing. I would be distraught if I lost my dog in the woods. After that I just couldn’t cate about the characters because all I could care about was the dog.

Didn't enjoy the writing style very much.
Characterization was weak. It was very much supposed to be a "worst traits emphasized by evil" type plot, but there was no set up to who they were Before, so everyone was just unlikable and "corrupted" from the jump. No relationships fracturing or breaking down, just ugly clawing and fighting.
I didn't enjoy the horror elements very much. Fairly gory.
The supernatural "thing" felt extremely weak to me. Flashing back to previous people killed by the land, evil ghosts but also somehow just evil land? The strongest parts were the land warping to herd the victims, but the ghosts were incredibly weak.

Boring writing style. Also, the plot was all over the place and the author tries to cover too much ground in a 300-pages long novel.

they told us what happened to the bodies literally at the beginning of the book so there was zero suspense of knowing what happened or who dies

The first 100 pages were so so good… and then it fell off
