The Empire (Filthy Trilogy #3; Dirty Rich, #10) by Lisa Renee Jones
For Harper and Eric at their worst is when they do their best work. Surrounded by danger, struggling with secrets and plowing through the collateral damage of their current situation is an adventure in itself. The Empire is the culmination of a love gone wrong fighting it's way right. Jones has a lock on anticipation. The Bastard was the spark that lit the candle, The Princess and highlighted the main event, The Empire. Temptation breeds anticipation and this series definitely delivered.

3.5-3.75 stars. Quickie review- I liked this book and the way it wrapped up the trilogy. However, in general, I found the whole trilogy way too drawn out for no reason and slow a times. I very much feel that this story was drug out so it could be three books for monetary gain. The overall story is good, but not much actually happens in terms of action. Most of the books are just talking and revealing secrets they hid from each other. I liked the characters and they had great chemistry and steam. I just felt some major editing was needed. I still like this author, but her recent books have been trilogies and I think that will continue, which I find tedious and frustrating. Still, I will continue to read her work and hope she changes the direction she is heading.
The Empire is not a standalone. You will want to start at book 1 to get the beginning of Eric and Harper's story.
The final conclusion is here! There has been so many questions since book 1. As a reader, you just didn't really know what was going on, all the way to the end. I love when I am kept guessing like that.
There were a lot of family secrets, hatred between certain family members and possible sabotage but you were never sure who was the true target and who was the true enemy.
During all the family drama, Eric and Harper learn that they are meant for each other and both see how far the other was willing to go to protect the other.
Another fabulous trilogy from Lisa Renee Jones that tied in the Walker Security men. I'm sure we will see more of them to come.

What a fantastic ending to this series!
The mystery, the intrigue and most of all the love that Eric and Harper have for each other. Even when there is so much against them, so many people out to destroy what they have together, their love and trust for each other was unbreakable.
I love how this series flowed from one book to the next. I applaud the ending, it was clean, it was happy and it gave justice to Eric and Harper and gave punishment to the guilty parties involved. You are gonna have to read this to realize the depth of deception that the Kingston family is involved in! It will floor you like it did me.
Every time I pick up a Lisa Renee Jones story, I don't know what to expect and I love that! I love to have to keep guessing till the end of the story and hold my breath in anticipation of the ending. She never fails to disappoint you as a reader.
I highly recommend this book, I highly recommend this series and I cannot wait to see what Ms. Jones comes out with next!

This trilogy started out quite strong so it’s a shame that I’ve enjoyed each book less and less. The struggle to finish The Empire was real. If it had been a standalone, I might have thrown in the towel but I invested too much time to quit.
The previous books suffer from repetition, and this book is no exception. It might even be a little worse. The pace is sluggish which caused my attention to wander. Truly, this story could and should have been wrapped up in two books. As it is, the conclusion is anti-climactic. I didn’t even feel like the bad guys got what was coming to them in the end, so I was left feeling unsatisfied all around.

Aside from quite a few conversations/topics became repetitive throughout the 3 books, this was a decent ending to a great trilogy. I wished the epilogue didn't have such a left open ending, but I wonder if Eric and Harper are going to show up in any of the other trilogies Lisa has planned.
The Empire is the third and final book in the Filthy Trilogy. You do need to read Book one and two prior to reading The Empire. Eric and Harper’s story continues where they left off in The Princess, book two.
Eric is a savant. Harper is his step-sister. They are in love. They have battled through all the secrets, twists and turns from the first 2 books!
After 2 huge cliffhangers, from the 1st 2 books, it was good to finally get an HEA!
FYI the Filthy Trilogy is a spin off from the Dirty Rich Series in case you want more by Lisa Renee Jones, whom I consider her books as Must Reads!
I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series and now I need to know what is next since, this is the conclusion of the Filthy Trilogy.

Ok, 3 quick reads that really could have been done in one book. Characters are enjoyable and the read was fun, but it was a little drawn out for 3 books.

This dynamic duo are much more powerful in this conclusion. Harper and Eric are unstoppable and in this one it shows how much stronger their bond has gotten. Secrets are revealed that will have you shocked and it was so unexpected but that couldn’t break their connection. Eric proved to Harper how he’ll do anything for her and she proved her loyalty to him. His friends as always were there to support him in everything that he went thru and their ending was just wow as expected. This alpha male and his beauty gave us suspense with steamy love scenes.
