“It’s impossible to compete with the dead. I wished I could stop trying.”

Decadently dark and impossible to put down. The writing feels so organic, akin to memoir, and you’re so close to Camille as to be suffocated in the same ways she is. Strangely difficult to escape her logic, her mind, and see objectivity. The whole book is sticky and hot. An incredible gothic mystery.

This book was one of those that makes you hate the character but still like her at times. I was so obsessed with the book and the family.
Honestly, couldn’t put this one down.

this was such a good book, i need to start reading the crime/mystery genres again as it used to be the only books i’d read. love flynn’s writing, showing the narrators tainted mind from childhood, developing and fixing points together. i did find the realisation rushed but i think it was realistic.
desperately need to read gone girl now
