Oh wow. What a book! What a plot twist... I did not see that coming.. Honestly thought something else was going on there but wow... Nope. I was wrong.
Every time I got stuck into this book, I got STUCK into it. Managed to keep the reading sessions long, but at the same time, enough sessions to savour the book. Definitely worth the read though!

I really enjoyed this book - there were a lot of twists & turns. Kept me hooked until the end.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author & the publisher for an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

It took a little while for me to get into this, but I was determined to give it another go.
After the first hundred pages, however, I could not put the book down!
This book is a fantastic read, with more twists and turns than I ever expected, right until the very end. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Having been disappointed by the last book I read by the author I was hoping for something better this time round, and I wasn’t disappointed.

The book took a turn I wasn’t expecting, but it was one I enjoyed. It is told using two different timelines, those of Sophia in the present day and Nina, her mother, in the past. It is only on reading Nina’s past that you get an idea of where the author is going with the storyline as a whole.

I did get a little bit bored with the initial part of Nina’s story but once it got going it gripped me totally. The characters are all well written, the story goes at a good pace, and overall this was a good read for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a copy.

My first ever 2 star review. And I’ve decided in 2023 I will allow myself to rate books 2 stars or less if they deserve it

Not impressed. Too melodramatic. Well read on Audible but that didn’t save it for me!

Another great book from Helen. Had me hooked from the beginning. I had guessed a little bit of it, but other parts of it were quite surprising to me. Looking forward to Helen's next book.

"Everything is lies, and nobody is who they seem"

Everything is Lies is my first Callaghan's book and surprisingly this one is a decent mystery thriller book.

The story is told from 2 different POVs; Sophia's POV for the present day and Nina's notebook for past days.

Sophia finds her mom (Nina) committed suicide and her dad (Jared) is in coma. She tries to prove that someone else wants to kill her parents. Then, she discovers Nina's notebook. This kind of storyline reminds me of Verity by CoHo, where the main antagonist read a deceased notebook or journal.

The story is fast-paced and easy to follow. I love Nina's POV more since it's all about CULT. The cult group is sinister and spooky.

As for the character's arc, Sophia is the only well-developed character, while the others are just mehhh. Sophia is an independent woman who lives in city, and brave enough to confront polices and the other cult members. While her mom, Nina is kind of weak woman, suffering from insecure and become easy prey. I find Aaron, the cult leader is a deluded control freak and narcissistic.

Everything in Lies has a surprising plot, unfortunately, I hate the ending.

A decent read.
