I truly went into this book with the most open of minds. I am no stranger to reading and hearing about kink and sex stuff, but I just could not finish this book. I started it intending to learn some more about how people write erotica literature, and I am seriously not one to yuck someone’s yum, unless your yum is incest, pedophilia, or rape. And like those are basically the first three things this book focused on. Like no ew gross??? No one should be getting off to this book when it focuses so heavily on those topics. And yes I understand this is fiction, but like still no one should be promoting having fantasies involving children! Because psychologically that will create pathways within the brain connecting children and sexual feelings, which can end up having a real world impact. I don’t know maybe I just missed the point but I don’t know why anyone would be turned on by this. Anyways this book made me feel truly icky and there was no chance I was going to finish it considering the subject matter.

Tot ce a reușit cartea asta în 280 de pagini a fost să îmi provoace greață.

Sunt 15 povestiri erotice dar toate sunt duse la extremă: viol, incest, umilință, batjocură și multe altele neplăcute.

Ce mi-a displăcut enorm a fost faptul că, în timpul actului (și aici ma refer la cel fără un acord explicit), pe la final, autoarea simte nevoia să spună că totuși persoana "în cauză" începe să se simtă bine, parcă nu e atât de rău. Și asta nu s-a întâmplat doar o dată. N-o mai poți salva, las-o așa.

Nu e ca și cum aș fi avut așteptări de la lectură, nu am mai citit nimic de la Anais Nin, dar eram curioasă. Well, am făcut-o și pe asta.

hazy and sensual, like a cocteau twins song floating through iridescent mist - anaïs nin's world lingers, soft and hypnotic. i’m convinced i’ll never read better erotic stories than these. i liked little birds equally, but this collection has more depth and variety. not feeling very generous at the moment to change my rating for little birds, but honestly both are solid five stars

Mmm not sure about this one. I liked A Spy in the House of Love More. Some of these stories were straight up assault, not erotic, and some were drawn on and boring.
