I liked it overall except the insta-love, but I quickly got over that because their love was so passionately beautiful and the spice was SPICY! There was a good balance of plot and spice, maybe leaning a bit towards spice. The monstrous cryptid like creatures are scary and add another cool hellish element.

Kinda worth the hype.
Rae - dumb female lead with no self-preservation skills; how she is still alive is a wonder.
Leon- he's your "never gonna fall in love but falls regardless" hero that at one point, because of Rae's stupidity, wonders if he's gonna have to watch her her entire life.
The baddies- yea, some of their decisions don't make any sense if they really wanted Rae i.e. they had so many opportunities to snatch her and do what they needed to do but don't?

Ugh i’m so sad. I wanted this is be a five star read so bad. It really did have all the makings of one too.
For half of this book I want to jump in the book and harm Rae myself. I was so pissed. My least favorite things in books is stupid FMC and this one was the worst. Like she purposely did everything Leon said not to do. I had to close the book and take a walk at some point.
Leon, I loved him sm. I was so funny for a immortal demon. The sass he gave Rae when she was begging him to save her was so funny. He is honestly the only reason this was even a two star. Also i don’t know if it just me but it wasn’t as spicy as I thought it would be for a dark romance. Idk maybe it’s just me.
But overall I loved the consent and the use of safe words. So yea.
