I have always absolutely adored the humor that Katie MacAlister adds to her books. It makes each and every one a delight. In her new series, Veronica is introduced to a new supernatural world when her sister dies and leaves her with a dangerous legacy. Meeting fellow dragon hunter Ian may or may not be the salvation she needs, especially since he seems to have an agenda of his own. Can Veronica and Ian put aside their attraction and save others before they have to rescue themselves? A fun start to a new series with some great characters. Can't wait to keep reading the series!

This was a great book. Plenty of action, comic relief & OCD goodness!

The story is well written and the characters come to life and jump off the page!

Read it to see how this Memoir ends!

I love all the things Katie MacAlister. That being said I was thrilled to start a new series by this author. Memoirs of a Dragon Hunter takes a young woman with OCD and germaphobia and turns her into a Dragon Hunter, No she doesn’t hunt dragons she hunts demons but enough about that. How is she supposed to hunt demons when she can’t squash a spider? Well with the help of hunky Dragon Hunter Ian Iskander of course. Ian has issues too. He is part demon and his chain is being held by an even worse demon.
This is a quirky fun and at times laugh out loud tale of love, laughter and dragons. I love that the characters aren’t perfect and am excited to see where this series goes.

I sincerely hope that one day, Katie MacAlister’s editor or friend or relative works up the inner strength to suggest that she try writing a different protagonist. She’s going on 10+ years of literally the same character in every single book she writes, with the men becoming dumber and progressively more cardboard cutout. I can’t tell if she’s not capable of writing something else or if she just doesn’t want to or what the f. But I wish she would, at least, try.

It has been a long time since I’ve read a paranormal romance. I oh so enjoyed this one! It made me laugh, smile, and swoon. I love the quirkiness of the heroine. I feel like book one is just the beginning of some awesome adventures. I’m sitting here already ready for the next book.

I voluntarily read an early copy.

If you've ever listened to an audiobook, you know that a narrator can make or break the experience for you. Their tone, accent, inflection, etc. truly impacts the story and can either complement it nicely or take away from it. I wasn't expecting much of this Chirp audio deal given the nature of the plot, but man the audio did me dirty on this one.

Veronica isn't close to her half sister but when the latter is getting ready to pass on, she beckons Veronica to tell her that she's passing on her dragon hunting ability and her sword. Now, the anxiety laced, hand sanitizer overusing Veronica has to carry out the mission her sister passed on to her, after she takes at least three showers. She ultimately meets her new neighbor Ian while she's cloaked in dragon blood and learns he's a dragon hunter demon combo platter as well. Like calls to like and all that. Now the two unite so they can achieve their own missions.

I can't stress enough how annoying the narrator made the main character Veronica sound. I mean, she was annoying anyway just based on her personality, but the somewhat valley girl, whiny thing she had happening here made me cringe. A lot. The same accent without the whine was given to the character of Sasha, also terrible. All that said, the story still lost me early on. It was over the top and irritating. Also, these were the least sexy romantic scenes I have literally ever read.
