Catching up on a PBB book club read since i wasn't able to get ahold of the book earlier this year.
A really thought-provoking read - and very strong in reading and analyzing the Quran through a queer lens and how the author has rooted their faith and their queer identity together. One does not exclude the other. I do admit to feeling a little unmoored in time while reading the book. When reading a memoir/biography I think it's pretty natural to try and place that person within the timeframe of the larger world, and since the author here has deliberately obscured specifics for reasons of safety (which makes sense) I wasn't able to do that. So that does give the recounting a bit of...looseness. The audiobook was excellent.

This was beautiful written, and I loved the audiobook narrator. It's given me a lot to think about, particularly the last two sections.
