Fun story about Bear, who can't wait to go to sleep, and Duck, who's ready to stay up and play. Adults will sympathize with the Bear, who just wants to sleep but is constantly interrupted and kids will love Duck, who is ready to play and have fun!

Super cute story of a bear trying to go to sleep and his neighbor duck who won't let him. Loved the humor in the illustrations too.
Great pairing for A Sleepover for Beatrice.

Having a few sleepless nights lately, I think this just hit me wrong. The story was cute, and the artwork as well, but one of the things I hate most in life is some jerk rudely keeping me awake when they *know* how tired I am. (Let's be real.... everyone hates that.)

Bear is ready for bed but Duck can’t seem to get to sleep. Hilarity ensues. I liked this cute but annoying duck and could completely relate to the exhausted bear. Every parent can relate.

Poor sleepy bear kept up by their night-duck neighbor. Text is fun to read with voices for little ones and lends itself to conversations about bedtime. Great background color choices to differentiate between the grumpy sleepy bear and wise-awake duck.

Please, please, just go to sleep! Or at least quit waking me up.

Funny and well-drawn. Would be fun to split the script with your early reader on this one. Love the exchanges at the level of palette and language.

No new territory covered here - duck is the annoying friend who won't let bear get to sleep. I thought it might end a la [b:I Want My Hat Back|11233988|I Want My Hat Back|Jon Klassen|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1327888784s/11233988.jpg|16160067] with bear eating duck (he looks pretty darn pissed off in some pictures), but the ending was actually pretty tame; in a final role reversal, duck is sound asleep and bear is wide-eyed and jittery. Not amazing, but should appeal to kids who enjoy the Pigeon's manic energy.
