Loved it! It was fast-paced, but very well written. Had me on the edge of my seat for certain parts. I suppose the ending is to expected, but there were some twists and turns that I did not see coming. Sophia is now one of my favorite characters! Be a light in the dark!

Don’t get me wrong I liked this book, I liked the idea, I liked the story, I liked (some) of the characters. But the way it was written was horrible. It’s written as a wattpad book made by 13 year olds. If this was a little wattpad book it would be higher but this was a professional edited book but an adult. I didn’t enjoy the main character for the first 3/4 in my opinion she was a horrible pick me that thought she was better than everyone. I liked her a little more at the end but she was still a pick me 😭, I think if this was rewritten it could be beyond amazing, like I said I love the plot. But at the same time it had plot holes and things that didn’t make sense but it was good, I rate it 2.25 ⭐️⭐️

It felt a bit flat. It had a lot of repetition and nothing happening in the middle. Then all of a sudden the whole story gets dumped by someone explaining the entire thing.

Cinderella is Dead surprised me with it’s world building; I was taken by the concept that Bayron presents of a world continuing on after a fairy tale takes place in it and the impact that has on society. While I really enjoyed this, I also struggled with how absolutely miserable the world is purely because I wasn’t expecting it. The story speaks very loudly about sexism and homophobia, which I think is a good thing. However, I also felt tired at the idea of another novel where being queer was against the norm and looked down upon. Additionally, some of the plot twists in the novel didn’t feel believable to me, which made the ending of the book feel kind of unsatisfying. I think if I had’ve read this when I was of age to be the target audience for this novel, I would have loved it. It asks the hard questions about what princess stories teach us about self-worth, and has an ethnically diverse cast to top it off.
