THE KING IN DA NORF
Still gut wrenching and riveting as a second read. Could not put it down, but I had to many times because it’s so damn long.

It's been over a decade since I first read Thrones and as much as I enjoy the political intrigue, I forgot how exhausting a book with multiple narrators can be. It's as if Martin couldn't decide on what type of book to write (political, fantastical, erotic).
There's so much story to tell, and it's a disservice and an injustice to that story to not develop it/them completely. As much fun as the series is to read, so much is glossed over or just not developed enough.

Whew, Done with book one. Very impressed at how closely the HBO show mirrors the book. I can not wait to move on to book two, but first I have to take a break.
