DID NOT FINISH: 21%
DNF because 1) it was boring and I was reading it just to read something 2) it was  destroyed when it was accidentally tossed into the washing machine with the week’s laundry. Oops.

Some parts teenage angst and some parts philosophical. Colin is a genius or is he just a prodigy and past his prime. What is a meaningful life. Silly but he tries to come up with a Theorem to explain relationships, using his dating history of 19 Katherine's as the model. He always gets dumped, except the one time he dumped Katherine III (they were 10 years old). He and Hassan take a road trip and end up in a small town in Tennessee. They meet Lindsey who also just graduated and her mom, Hollis gives them a job to document the history of the town by doing interviews and they stay with them in the big house. Lindsey dates the quarterback. Lots of talking and a few adventures (learning to shoot a shotgun, wild boar hunting, Hassan goes cruising, tastes beer and kisses the local Katherine who is so good looking the quarterback got dumped by her). Well the quarterback cheated on Lindsey but she isn't that sad. She actually likes Colin and he ends up dating his first Lindsey. Who knows how  long it will last but the relationship lasted more than 4 days predicted by the Theorem - so maybe he won't be famous but he is over Katherine 19 and learned a whole bunch of life lessons.

I loved the footnotes. The book was easy to read and engaging.

Definitely underrated because it's one of John Green's less popular tales but it's honestly my favorite of his. It's so refreshing to read something that doesn't have the ending everyone expects. Also nice to read something that's no so gushy.

Eh, it was ok. Colin wasn't a very engaging character and we never do get resolution about the textile factory- the book just sort of ends.
