A light, fluffy romance novel with some exceptionally eye roll-y bits (this HAS to be the worst/least plausible two leads/one bed excuse, a character is described as being over 30 because they have crows feet and laugh lines, etc), a wish fulfillment of a love interest (not a criticism), and some really fun characters.
The author also takes a run at some more serious themes--discovering yourself, chasing dreams, the inevitability of change, love being continue to change with/pick someone who has changed, and suicide. The growing up themes are handled well. The suicide theme is...clearly seen from the perspective of a grieving survivor. Those parts felt like they could have benefited from some additional research on the topic, though I understand she was speaking from recent and painful experience so I can see why it wasn't approached that way.
