Lovecraft horror at its best.
Loved this book, loved this weird, creepy, ungodly story.

The first half of this book is great, a description of escalating events that are leading up to this 'Dunwich Horror'... I loved how things kept getting weirder only to be followed by 'and this was only the preface to the real horror', which kept you thinking, what on earth is the Dunwich Horror?!

Unfortunately the middle drags which loses some of the tension built up of the first half, with lots that I thought could be cut out and still make a coherent story. It picks back up again near the end, but this just solidifies that for me I think Lovecraft is at his best with his shorter stories.
