Set in a remote, rural village, The Dunwich Horror tells the story of Wilbur Whateley, a strange, unnaturally developed child, and the terrifying events that unfold around his family's farm. The plot thickens as it delves into dark rituals, otherworldly beings, and the unraveling of bizarre secrets. A five-star read for its captivating plot and eerie atmosphere.

A little racist and the ending was a little anti-climatic? I appreciate some of what he was trying to do but overall don't get the hype?

I loved this one! Nice job HP. You built up the terror and introduced us to more terror in each consecutive chapter. I would be a miss if the Horror didn't mildly remind me of both the beast in the underground of the castle in the white lands of Empathica in the Dark Tower by King. And also in size and shape of the castle in Howl's moving Castle.

Enjoyed this more than The Shadow Over Innsmouth, but man I really hate the way he writes accents. It's so hard to read. It also isn't lost on me that the only character whose dialogue is written with no accent is Dr. Armitage aka Lovecraft's self-insert character.

Thoroughly enjoyed some stories, others I found unreadable. I would give the Color Out of Space and the Thing on the Doorstep 5 stars.

I do love the writing style and the voice of words, the prose is fantastic regardless of the quality of the story, but some of the ideas weren鈥檛 palatable to me. Mostly the racism.

In The Dunwich Horror, H. P. Lovecraft tells us the story of the Whateley family and their impious doings and how this affected to Dunwich and its inhabitants. I loved the way he creates an atmosphere of horror and how he rations the amount of information about the evil in Dunwich. You can't stop reading the story and you will find yourself deep into its reading. Just great.
