Well, That ending was a bit unexpected. It does make sense though, considering that the first three books are prequels.
On to the fourth!

the storytelling is improving by leaps and bounds throughout this series
adventurous funny lighthearted fast-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated

Killer the former bunny really irks me, but another fun installment of this series I loved as a kid.

Again, not quite as excellent at the first of the series (or even the second); this one focuses much more on Morwen, and it lacks some of the feminism and fairy tale cliches that made the first book so wonderful. However, still a pleasant read.

The first book started off strong with the right dose of humour and subverted tropes, but this one was just cheap jokes and bad structure. The story takes place in the span of what, 3 days? And then the last chapter suddenly has a 2 month time jump halfway through. Not to mention, the conflict barely gets resolved, and I had to put up with an incredibly annoying character that did not need to be there. And on top of that, Kazul seemed very out of character. I don't think I'm going to read the last book, which is a bummer considering I've reread the first book multiple times because of how enjoyable and satisfying it is.

All the characters were just insanely annoying in this one.

Possibly my favorite book of all time. I've read this book three times, and I'm going to read it again! This series is full of clever puns concerning stereo-typical fantasy and adventure. The characters are wity, and the plot is hilarious! I suggest this book to anyone, but particularly kids 4-6th grade.

2½-3 stars.
adventurous emotional
Loveable characters: Yes

"I, ah, was just going," said the rabbit. "You see, I’m late."
"For what?" Morwen demanded.
"Something important, I’m sure. Not that it matters. I’m always late, you see. It runs in the family; my brother even got himself a big gold pocket watch, and he still can’t get anywhere on time."

In this book, we mostly follow the witch Morwen and I was SO into that. I love Morwen, I love the cats, I was just SO ready to completely adore the book, unfortunately... some things went... sour.
1. This book has 9 (nine!!!) speaking cat characters that are all completely cat-like, completely individualistic, funny and just overall wholesome. I have to say, the cats were the highlight of this book. I would probably re-read it just for the cats.
