It was good but I couldn’t get into it. I like formula 1 and for some reason this one (or maybe other f1 romances) just isn’t for me.
definitely a me problem.

Never read a racing troupe but it was cute. I enjoy Lauren Asher’s writing. Fun little romcom
okkkk, so I'm a huge fan of F1, and since the season ended a few weeks ago, I thought it was the perfect time to get into this new series!
I really thought that the author wasn't going to be able to capture and describe how an F1 driver feels while driving. Don't get me wrong, I don't know either, but at least from what I read it seemed pretty solid to what I think F1 drivers experience during a race.
All the characters seemed pretty grounded and well-thought-out. All thought I did find myself more interested in Liam and Sophie's relationship more than Noah and Maya's. But after that, I really liked how the book follows the whole season and how slowly the relationship evolved during that 10-month period. I do have to admit though, when the two MC's kissed for the first time, I did not feel a single surge or emotion. I don't know if it was because I wasn't paying attention, or because I didn't feel like the relationship was developed enough for them to kiss like they did.
There are like so many red flags in Maya and Noah's relationship, but I'll let you see for yourself how the relationship between the two evolve.
Overall, could be a better story, but I would like more banter, hope the next book has that.

I’ve never, in my life, read a book so cringeworthy. I can look past the F1 inaccuracies. I can even look past the stereotypical short, effortlessly beautiful, unathletic FMC (can we think of a new character pls?). The first red flag was all of the cussing in the prologue; it just seemed like a cheap way to make the MMC a “bad boy”. I’m no expert on writing, but it just felt very forced.
The second red flag was having our FMC be Spanish and immediately eating/drinking paella and sangria… seriously? It just feels very surface level; the FMC is only Spanish bc it makes her “hot”.
The dialogue is BAD. There were several moments where I had to stop and just look at the ceiling.
And beyond all of that, you’re telling me the FMC is super attracted to her brother’s self-proclaimed rival immediately? I can’t think of any siblings out there that would even entertain that possibility right off the bat.
If I could have given this 0 stars I would have.
