I am just loving this author so far with these two books. The characters and the world are so believable and totally entertaining. I really only have one gripe with this book. I am so tired of every single time two vastly different cultures come together in a relationship like this that the female always gets the male to go against what his people would do in a specific situation. In general I'm okay with it, but what I'm talking about is when the guy goes after an enemy. No matter how close to death the girl comes, she always wants her mate to forgive the offender or go easy on them no matter what the rules of their people are. I thought for once that Tahk would follow thru with what he planned against the one who hurt Peyton....but noooooo. She had be all martyr and shit and want him to be lenient. And he was. UGH.

Anyway. This time around we are on the Dahk homeworld. A freezing cold and dangerous place for Peyton to be sure. I was very curious if the multiple mate thing would be addressed that was mentioned in the first book, and boy was it. For some time I was really annoyed with how Peyton was acting towards Tahk. It was immature and stupid. But after they got to homeworld, I slowly started to get back on her side with how she was treated or expected to be. Loving a Dahk is most definitely hard for a human girl. Fortunately for Peyton, she at least has a couple people on her side. And eventually has her terrifying Commander back as well. Which is something she desperately needs to survive this world when enemies are everywhere.

Tahk is still one hell of a man, and his decisions regarding Peyton more than prove it. Oh yes, he's one hell of a catch. Tahk has his hands full between trying to take care of his mate, find out who killed his king, and convince the council to save Earth. He does it all quite well too. But when it comes out what his dead king had done and what he was really like, he finds it near impossible to believe. But it all makes sense. Now he just has to fix it. Throw in some ominous words from a terrifying enemy and you have a recipe for disaster.

It's so interesting how well this author can put so much politics into a book and not have it take away from the story. In fact, it's so integral to it and makes it that much more. There's lots of fighting, some laughing, and a horrible turn of events with Viv's fiance. While I am incredibly sad that this seems to be the end of Tahk and Peyton being the main characters, I am most definitely looking forward to the next book.

I'm having such a run of excellent luck recently with my reading and Home World was no exception.
This was for me a five-star experience and If I adored book one this one hand's down blew that out of the water for me.
So here we continue forward on our journey with Peyton and Tahk and this is one story I was so looking forward to getting back on board with.
This is the conclusion to their individual love story but so not the end of this fascinating series thank god.

So as I previously mentioned in my review for this one's predecessor I adore aliens that actually resemble them and Tahk had that part covered in spades.
With an almost bat-like appearance, I was totally digging his alien mojo.
I also adored seeing these Aliens in their own particular habitat: fascinating stuff.
What beautiful descriptive narrative was also used to describe their homeworld, I could just picture it so vividly in my own head.

So I was originally quite peeved at Peyton's sheer stubbornness here as I thought she was a tad unreasonable in her grievances against Tahk's duty to his monarch and really should have given him a break and been more understanding really wanted to give her a shake: but saying that she was also totally correct in giving him an ultimatum and being hurt and upset over his lack of transparency when it came to his people's customs.

This behaviour was really not on, I gave him a pass because of the customs of his people: but he withheld because he thought she might be upset not because it didn't occur to him: that to me screams deception on his part.
It's still an untruth by omission in my opinion.
So I'm glad she stood firm and put her foot down over this particular matter: not that I think Tahk had any inclination to even sniff in another woman's direction: he was kinda devoted to Peyton's comfort and happiness before all others and that behaviour was actually kinda sweet too observe.

So this was slightly more angsty than book one and had a totally different vibe.
we get re-introduced to some old faces and get to meet some new.
This was a fabulous continuation of the story we originally began in Pythen, I Can honestly say I really am looking forward to seeing where this series is heading as there is just so much scope for future story growth here.
This is one new series that I am ever so happy to recommend I really did enjoy myself so much here.
I borrowed this with my KU subscription.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.

I enjoyed this book more than book 1.
Ex drama.
Issues with family.
No cheating despite it looking like it might happen.
No intimate scenes with anyone other than the Hero and heroine.
HFN.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books.

Still 3 solid stars, still love the world building and while I was annoyed at Peyton in the beginning, I really liked how she was willing to understand Tahk's position and work with him. This is a very interesting world and the characters are fleshed out rather well. The last 3rd of the book has me clamouring for answers.. so much happening!

This book crumble like breadcrumbs by the end of the book. There is a lot of build up for nothing. Peyton lost herself in this story. She went from being brave to being a scared little mice at every corner. I understand she was in a new world with new people but she could have kept some of herself. I also didn’t like that instead of trying to understand their culture and adjusting to it over time, she want full out change from everyone around. Which didn’t make sense she only brought one think from her culture to counteract what she couldn’t live with. Like she didn’t tell them about marriage, or of dating aspects of human life. She also keeps saying humans don’t this and this, however, she should have said not all humans do it. I really would of like to see her try to be in their culture and then decide if she really could do it.
Also, this story had a lot of plots coming from everywhere and everyone. I can tell you now Viv and Yilt will be a couple soon. You can see it every time they interact.
The end of this book didn’t make much sense as nothing was resolve and just left things hanging. The author did say there are going to be more books but it doesn’t seem Tahk and Peyton will be seen much in those. However, I don’t see how that’s going to work as they are the main ones everyone is hate on or rutting for. The ending is just open ended .
However, there are points Peyton comes back to herself and fights with all her might. Moreover, I would have love to see her explain basic human culture to the Dahk. Then we would have seen an exchange of cultural ideals.
In other Sci-fi romance this is an important part of the book showing the different between the two worlds and adjusting to the things that are different. Trying before you so hell no. Both Tahk and Payton were lacking in doing this and it caused them undo stress because they lacked communication skills.
I will be reading the next books and I hope it gets better.

This was a great sequel to book 1. I love this dark planet. Peyton and Tahk made me love them even more. We met new characters like his mother, father and family. OH heck dealing with in laws goes to another level. We learn more about the culture and family dynamics. This book is action packed.
