When I first started reading this, I thought the writing was hard to read and very formal, but I guess I got used to it because I absolutely loved this book. I can’t believe I nearly gave up reading it!
The only problem is that I felt a bit of disconnect between the main characters (Alizeh) personality, and what she was really written like. She was described as this great Queen, but she screamed a lot, was clumsy and behaved like a little girl which I felt didn’t match what other characters said about her/described her as.
The twists weren’t great, they were mediocre. I wasn’t shocked or anything. However there weren’t too many characters which I liked because sometimes I can’t keep track.
