Oh I predict I shall be devouring this series. It took about 100 pages to really get into it, but once I was in it, I was IN IT. I love all the little details and set-ups woven throughout (get it? Woven?). Since this is the first in a series, it definitely felt like the buy-in book. At times, the setting felt a little static because it was a lot of setting up and world building for the next books. That being said, it was so easy to read and had such fun, flowing dialogue & writing that I didn’t mind that it felt like we were treading water at times. The characters felt fully fleshed out and KAREM ASHFJFNJVJDBRH. I love him your honor!!! The ending was predictable but I was gagged and had a blast nonetheless. Just requested the sequel from my library and I can’t wait!!

i wasnt feeling it.
- i wanna get into tahreh mafis books i will try and finish this one and then the second one eventually) if i like this one enough. maybe tahreh mafi isnt for me which would make me sad because i have the shatter me series and i wanna read it to see kenji and nazeera
i anticipate it being a 3 star book for me
