After reading the entire shatter
series, I was really excited to read this book. I have no recollection of it because it was so uneventful until the last 200 pages of the book. I could not tell you who the characters are, and I was highly disappointed With the pace of this book.

idk why but i wasn’t expecting to rlly like this book cause idk i guess i just thought it’d be another romantasy kinda thing and i was afraid it’d be a powerless situation and have bad writing and all that but like….i rlly rlly enjoyed this. the writing was really nice and i was happy to see that the audiobook narrator was the same person who voices for brandon sanderson books. it was a nice little treat :) despite that though, the story was very interesting, the world building was actually very good, the writing was very pretty, and the dialogue felt natural. i appreciated that the plot was incredibly interesting on its own aside from the romantic parts of the book. i also really liked the main character as well cause i feel like in a lot of fantasies the mc’s always just end up being super badass and detached from their emotions kinda thing. i liked that she was a character who valued kindness and mercy and was overall a very righteous person who could be delicate despite who she was and the situations she was in. the ending had me kicking my feet and now im definitely excited for the next books cause apparently they are better than this one.

I only rated it three stars because I felt it was a lot of build up and then finally got good at the end. I would have rather had more intrigue in the beginning.
On the other hand, Kamran’s character was very interesting…that was until we meet Cyrus…
