The un-lovableness of the characters is what makes this work. A brilliant book with lots of twists and turns that keep you on your toes.

This was a really great book. It had suspense, short chapters which made me want to keep reading. at first, I was wondering how this book would unfold - Alison's high powered job mixed in with her extramarital activities, keeping a family and drinking too much. Alison has been given her first murder trial but it isn't quite what she's expecting...

The writing was sloppy and pretty badly done, yet the plot and realness of the characters made it so enjoyable I couldn't book the down. Finished within 24 hours. Amazing twist (an incredibly twisted one at that) at the end!

Just an annoying main character and a pathetic excuse for a human being. she is not the badass woman I was promised, she begs for attention from a man who is self-absorbed and ignorant and while she doesn't want to hurt her family life she thinks that offering to help the dishes is enough to somehow piece her relationship back at home all the while neglecting her daughter. Not to mention she does some disgusting things in the book that just demeans the character even more for me. For those who enjoy realistic contemporary accounts, this could be for you but unfortunately, while i understand the struggle, I just couldn't relate to her choices in life as it was her choices that she made that affected her life.
