Such a great read! An ongoing, unexpected twist on the typical thriller, which will keep you riveted through the very end.
Wow, this book has it all. The size of the book had me continuously putting it to the back of the pile. To be honest, I was a big Twilight fan and I was scared to read something from her that was in a totally new genre. But I shouldn't have waited. Action packed spy thriller with a female heroine, a lot of paranoia, a little romance; there were parts I laughed and parts I teared up. Great read!
Apart from the element of Stockholm Syndrome, this book was surprisingly good! Have only read Meyer’s YA novel, I wasn’t sure how she’d write for adults.
The answer? She does it well!
This book follows an ex-Doctor who now completes torture missions on people for the CIA. That is, until her mark ends up being innocent. It’s then that her life and her work end up getting turned upside down.
The main character was great because she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty- but she also has a human side. She can feel guilt.
Once I got into this book (a lot of things happen straight away) I really enjoyed it. I really liked the developing relationship that went throughout.
Something was always going on, which kept the pages turning.
The romance didn’t feel forced either, which helped to enjoy the thriller aspect of the book. It’s very well done.
I’m glad I picked this up as it’s so different from Twilight. I’d forgotten how good a writer Stephenie Meyer is.
4/5 stars!

This book was full of romantic fluff and pointless love scenes that did little to further the plot. If this book was trimmed down to include the best parts, it would probably be a novella. Twilight fans can smd.

This book does not get enough praise! It had the cutest ending I think a book has ever had. It was a spectacular book, which I will definitely be recommending to my friends in the future.
