The time of its release along with clues in the text make me feel like this is going to be a lot of this book trying to convince me that Mexicans are evil and I’m just not here for racism
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I expected. The story kept my interest and I was at the edge of my seat waiting to see how it would end.

LOved it!!!!! Oh MAH GOODNESS it was so good!!! This is definitely one of those books I will buy so I can reread it and have my friends and family read it!! It was just so fun and I loved the bit with the dogs and how well trained they are and the relationship dynamics between all of them and the chemicals and the back stories!!! I also love how originally in the epilogue the author kind of tricks us and makes us think Adam, Bess, and Neil are their new names lol, which doesn't make sense since Bess isn't a androgynous name., and they'd want to keep out of the limelight. I also adore the enamel of the restaurant that was just so clever with its double meaning!!! And the angst and fluff were balanced so well, the suspicion and planning just so well thought out. I devoured this book and will never forget it. It was amazing!!! I just enjoyed it so much!!! I need more books like this in my life!! ESPIONAGE!! DANGER!!! INTERROGATION!!! CHEMICALS!!! ROMANCE!!! teehee hehe ;) XD Xp
Maybe even 3.5. I can't decide if I really liked it or it was really boring and dumb.

This was, like anything by Meyer...not that great. Decent enough story to keep me going, but not great writing and fairly unbelievable and predictable all at the same time. Was a decent audio book to listen to while traveling.
My least favorite from Meyer. This is her first non-sci/fi, non-fantasy book (I think, anyway). It's fine, but believe it or not, the characterization and plotting is even more unrealistic than the existence of sparkly vampires.
By far my favorite of Stephanie Meyer's works. The plot was thick, the action was incredible, and the characters were amazing. I don't even know what trope works best here either. There's some enemies-to-lovers, love-at-first-sight, and definitely some good ole slow burn.
The spice was also impeccable without there being anything smutty or X-Rated. This book absolutely deserves all five stars and if I could give more I would. *Chef's kiss* (p.s. that actually totally has relevance to the book and I didn't even spoil anything)

A nice change of pace from her other books. I can tell she was inspired by the genre, and I appreciated her character development. Although I enjoyed the story, this book isn't one that I would keep top of mind to recommend to my friends. I've read most of Stephenie's books and this one was okay, but a bit sloppy. I preferred "Host."
