Not so great. I wasn't necessarily expecting a masterpiece, but I wish it wasn't so painfully predictable.
Definitely liked the personality of the main character. She is very strong, intelligent, likely autistic yet written to be rational (instead of oblivious, like so many others).
Definitely don't recommend the audio version. It was a mess.

Stephenie Mysters has created a thriller for sure. Alex, well that’s one of her names, used to work for the government, a secret secret agency. Doing something you wouldn’t expect from a small woman. Somehow she and her boss learn something ultra secret and someone set out to do them in. The boss didn’t make it; she’s been on the run for four years. It appears that a former handler is giving her a chance to return but the opportunity is not real and more thrills ensue. Lots of action. Twins. A love story. Improbable happenings. There is a good story here; I just found it buried in extraneous material. A sharp editing would have tightened the tale. I did find her main character nicely drawn.
This was such a fun thrill ride of a book - a lot of chemistry (literally - not the romantic kind), suspense, and awesome dogs. The romance was sweet without overpowering the story, and it was fast-paced and exciting but with plenty of real human characters. Really glad I picked it up!
I enjoyed this book a lot more than I thought I would... the start is a bit tough, with a bit too detailed descriptions of Alex' exact routines, but once the story really starts, it was hard to put the book down again. Alex was an interesting character, Daniel was sweet and Kevin was hard to like at first, but I warmed up to him. And I have a weakness for guns that are hung early and being shot at the end, which worked out very well in this book.
Ok this had me fully entertained. Romance was silly but loading car full of Glocks trained attack dogs biological weapons of mass destruction etc was some of her best work

A very enjoyable action thriller with good spy craft and the best dog ever. The romance subplot was lackluster and really only a reason for the characters to stick together but it worked well enough for that purpose.
This was a very entertaining book - definitely a beach-read type. I didn't want to put it down the entire time I was reading it, and I breezed through the entire volume in a few days. If you're looking for something to kick-start your reading habits, I would recommend this book.
Remarkably boring for a thriller, with lots of tedious detail. Quite disappointing given the general tone of the positive reviews.
Better than I expected bearing in mind her usual genre.
