Wow. I didn't think I would ever say this, but Twilight was better than this.

You know, I went into this book with such high hopes. I know the Twilight books are trash, but I am trash for them, and The Host is one of my all-time favourite books. So I was like, "a Stephenie Meyer book that I HAVEN'T READ? Gotta get on that!!" And yet, here I am, writing this sad review about how bored I was throughout this whole thing. I always used to say that I liked Twilight simply because I loved Stephenie's writing, and that she could write about a rock and I would still love it. Well...here's the rock. And I guess I didn't actually like it. I found the characters to be so flat. Maybe it's just because I'm not a fan of thrillers, but I found the plot to be slow and the romance unnecessary.

However. Can we talk about the fact that she literally tortured a man by
Spoiler INJECTING LACTIC ACID INTO HIS MUSCLES?! I have a BSc, and so I have a pretty good understanding of muscle physiology and how absolutely DISGUSTING this is, omg. I literally almost puked reading it.
.

Anyways, definitely not a book I would read again. Sorry, Stephenie. I broke my streak with you.

I enjoyed this story. A great action read delivered at just the right pace to keep my interest and excitement.

For die hard Twilight fans this book comes as a complete shock. But not necessarily in a bad way. This reads like a spy novel with a badass female main character who has a meticulous education & malicious side. I enjoyed it to an extent but the pure downside, in which I only gave it a 3 star, is it was wayyyyyy too long.

Pa-lease! If your going to write about immature puppy love...stick to writing about teenagers.

Good for a quick beach read, although not very original. If you've read a lot of spy novels, it's quite predictable and there are hardly any twists or turns in the plot.

A excellent book to read
