I don’t understand how a “spy” novel can be so boring but man is this further proof that SM does not research literally anything before she writes.
This book is having a serious identity crisis - is it a thriller? A romance? A spy novel? A mystery? Who knows! SM certainly doesn’t! And it doesn’t do any of those genres well.
Don’t waste your time, it’s not even worth a hate read.

It was kinda better than I was expecting... when things were actually happening. But it took me a lot longer than normal to get through because for long periods of time, nothing was going on, and that doesn't exactly make for compelling reading. I was vaguely annoyed at a lot of details that seemed inaccurate from a healthcare professional's standpoint. I don't know, I just can't muster very strong feelings about it.
The heart is in the middle! Why does she have actual OCD for only one sentence in the middle of the book?
Well, it was a bit like Twilight. Recognized some themes, there. It's alright, Meyer, I still made it to the end. Wanted to give it a fair chance and all. In fact, the mixed reviews excited me. Seems to me that people got bored with mundane-type content found inside... I am for the small things in a story, such as what's in a sandwich or how much lint is in a belly button. However, the last third was only lazily read and not entirely seen by my eyes. I'm very sorry, but I couldn't help it. I wanted to read different things. I actually kinda understood the character of Daniel, like where the idea for him would come from maybe, even though he was somewhat ridiculous. But, oh boy, the lovey stuff was pretty... lame. Please forgive me.
Fun... when it wasn’t supposed to be
This was a fun read. Turn your brain off. Don’t expect much but a semi-enjoyable way to waste some time. The “big twists” fell flat for me because they were FAR too obvious and the romance was way overdone and detracted majorly from the story.
Spy thrillers aren’t supposed to just be fun. They’re supposed to leave you on the edge of your seat. Sadly, I never felt that. I kept reading because it was better than the backup book I’m reading—but only marginally so.

I think this book is fine. I've now read it twice and both times I enjoyed it. I mean as thriller romances go, it wasn't exceptionally believable but who really cares? Both times I found it a little hard to get into and I am a major skimmer so if I read it carefully I might be more judgey about it but it still was a pleasant brain candy.
A solid suspense novel, it loses some points for a slightly unbelievable romance (but it's still a better love story than Twilight). I really enjoyed it. I feel like Meyer's true talents lie far beyond Twilight, and it shows here.
I liked the book and it was a good story/plot! I felt like it kept me interested but there were parts where I was wondering “how’d we get here”? It could have been me just zoning out. And, if that’s the case, I guess it wasn’t keeping me interested enough. I love the author, I love her other books. This one just didn’t have that that “oomph” for me to give it 4 or 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book, loved all the detail about the chemicals used and the clever way the main character avoids capture. I'm a romantic and so loved that element of the book, however I do wonder if others would think that it was not needed and undermined the female character slightly. It didn't for me but then I'm a sucker for a romance!!
