I liked the book and it was a good story/plot! I felt like it kept me interested but there were parts where I was wondering “how’d we get here”? It could have been me just zoning out. And, if that’s the case, I guess it wasn’t keeping me interested enough. I love the author, I love her other books. This one just didn’t have that that “oomph” for me to give it 4 or 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book, loved all the detail about the chemicals used and the clever way the main character avoids capture. I'm a romantic and so loved that element of the book, however I do wonder if others would think that it was not needed and undermined the female character slightly. It didn't for me but then I'm a sucker for a romance!!
OK, I really wanted to like this book as much as I did The Host. As much as I didn't like Bella she tried to have a strong woman character but when I only had 50 pages left and everyone was going to die I was still able to put it down. I liked the dogs better than the characters.
I'm a Twilight fan. It has all the ingredients: interesting vampires, mystery, great love story, action.
I liked The Host very much, as it had also an interesting plot (aliens) and all the right ingredients.
I didn't fall so much for The Chemist, however. Way too many descriptions of uninteresting things. Being in The Chemist's head was not so interesting.
But, why the 3 stars then ? Actually, it's 2-1/2 stars, but I'm being generous because it's Stephenie Meyer and she's still one of my favorite authors. The story is interesting, and I enjoyed reading the book.

This was just SO fun. Full review here: http://everyday-reading.com/the-chemist-by-stephenie-meyer/
Can't finish this. At first I was just plain bored. Then I got to the part about torture and I had to stop altogether. Warning for anyone else who doesn't want to read about that.
Quick, fast paced read that was entertaining at every turn. Suspenseful, yet not completely surprising, it made for a fun Saturday read!

A slow start but when it took off it grabbed me and didn't let go. I think it were the dogs that did me in. The story made me laugh too although the most part is a thrilling action-story. I enjoyed it a lot.
