A slow start but when it took off it grabbed me and didn't let go. I think it were the dogs that did me in. The story made me laugh too although the most part is a thrilling action-story. I enjoyed it a lot.
After the Twilight series (I was a huge fan but shhhh don’t tell my friends) and The Host, I concluded that Stephanie Meyer only knew how to write one female protagonist: a helpless damsel in distress.
But Alex was anything but helpless. This book sorta happened in waves of yawn and action, which is why it took me a while to finish it. But when I finally committed, it didn’t disappoint.
If you’re into government conspiracy spy novels with a little love thrown in, you’ll enjoy this. It’s no great literary classic, but it’s very entertaining and I mostly read to be entertained.

the action just keep going even after I thought it was going to stop. I am by no means an expert on a spy Thriller but for a young adult book it had intrigue, excitement and adventure. It kept me interested. the epilogue was unique but not as fulfilling as I hoped it would be.
I really liked the first 200 pages or so. Stephanie does great with the thriller stuff. Romance was pretty meh.
Once I stop thinking of this as adult fiction and started to place it into my YA frame of mind everything went smoothly. Just Had to stop thinking of it as adult spy/government thriller and think of it as a YA romance novel. I had the same problem with 'The Host', which is a reason I was hesitant to read this one, that was suppose to adult fiction too but it read more like YA.
This is a good story and Stephenie Meyer had a great plot, it just would have worked better in the hands of maybe James Rollins, or James Pattersons, or any other author that does adult spy/government thrillers.

Wow! I enjoyed this book so much! It started a little slowly but once it got going, I could not put it down! Climactic ending had me reading until 2 in the morning. Ended very neatly which seemed slightly far fetched but I loved the ride. Definitely a recommended read!
