This was drivel (and I don’t normally use words like “drivel”). Meyers should be ashamed of writing this. It is unbelievable that it was ever published. If you didn’t like twilight because of the stupid dialog and corny romance, stay faaaaar away from this crap. I slogged through twilight, but was still surprised at the complete mind numbing incompetence Meyers showed in the writing of this book.

The protagonist in this story used to work for a secret government agency, until they tried to kill her. She's been on the run since. She changes names frequently and this follows in the story, which is occasionally confusing. Mostly she calls herself Alex.
The first half of this book is fast-paced and entertaining. Then comes a love angle and the plot peters out to nothing. Of course I knew this would be a book where my ability to suspend disbelief would be challanged, but it still annoyed me a bit toward the end.
Nonetheless, for being a book I initially thought I wouldn't bother with, it was still okay. It's an easy and fun read as long as you don't analyze anything along the way.

I picked up this book in 2021, and, as the set-up was unfolding, I thought “Nope, can’t do this right now.” Started it again last week, and couldn’t put it down. Intense, but thoroughly enjoyable.
I listened to the audio book and found myself wanting to find excuses to be in my car or where I could keep listening. I don’t generally gravitate to this genre but I like the author. I’m glad I gave it a try, entertaining and exciting. Still a touch of romance and a tad bit predictable but sometimes that can be a good thing.
