Thoroughly enjoyable female spy novel written by a woman. Fun, non-stop excitement, humor and spy geekiness. Loved it!

To be perfectly honest, this was much better than I expected. I read the Twilight series to make some friends happy and ended up thinking that I should reevaluate those friendships because I was pretty sure that they were trying to kill me with those horrible books. This book is for adults. It's not full of sappy tripe. There are also no vampires or werewolves, but a book can't have everything.

This book is a page-turner. I love the narrative and the way the characters interact and develop. The story is not my usual, but I love all the descriptions and details that help you imagine the scenes.

It's definitely has a different feel from the host and twilight but I didn't think it was that great. It was good enjoyed that it kept me until the end but it seems like some parts had far to much detail and others had not enough. I didnt feel any emotion from the characters at times and some of the plot was very easy to predict.

Cool idea, but execution was lacking

Such potential but this book could not decide what to be. An exciting thriller? An awkward teenage love story? The story was entertaining, though there wasn't as much intrigue as I expected. The side plot just didn't work for me. Some characters were entirely unbelievable and juvenile. I was impressed by her creativity and her research. Perhaps the next novel will leave even more of the YA style behind.

The great thing about jetlag is that suddenly one has superspeed reading power. Finished the book in 24 hours. Was kind of surprised by the topic but looked well researched. Also felt more mature. Believeable enough for novice like me. So had high hopes at the beginning. But as soon as the Chemist started playing nicely with other characters, the book reverted back to Twilight-y version of spy book. The cheesy jokes, the endless "should I, shouldn't I fall for this guy?" made it feel teenager-ish again. Entertaining enough.
