This was the final Harper Connelly book. We finally figure out what happened to Harper's sister. Tolliver's brother, Mark, killed her because she found out that Gracie wasn't really Gracie. Gracie died on the way to the hospital and Matthew, Mark and Tolliver's Dad, buried her and then replaced her with the baby that we found out about during the job that brought Harper and Tolliver back to Texas. It was super obvious that Chip and Drex were the shooters, and I was not surprised that Chip was the father of the fake Gracie. The story ends with Harper and Tolliver making inroads with their their half sisters, and getting married. It was a natural end to the series and I was glad that it was not prolonged just for the sake of having more books.
Now this is what I had expected all long these books would be. If I could have actually connected with the characters these all would have had an extra star, but pretty much everyone read with monotone voices to me. Cardboard characters.
I wish someone would make a spinoff with Manfred, dude deserves his own books and for someone to really do his character justice.
Overall enjoyable series!

This is the last of the Harper Connelly books so far and it wraps up all the loose ends. I am still having problems with Harper and Tolliver's relationship, especially since she still calls him her brother. Harper is hired to find out what killed the grandfather of wealthy Dallas ranch owners. Along the way, she discovered his caregiver died in childbirth. Now the family needs to figure out if the baby is still alive and who was the father. Tolliver's father shows up and big family secrets are revealed, including what happened to Harper's sister Cameron.

Grave Secret is the final book in the Harper Connelly mystery series. I initially wanted to give this book 4 stars because the ending was really quite good, and the solving of Cameron's disappearance (which we've all been wondering about since book 1) was tied in nicely. However, I would say the first 4/5ths of this book was very slow paced, and I didn't really get interested in what I was reading until the ending.
I didn't care about the characters or the story. I just read it to finally complete the series.
I was surprised by this book, in a good way. It was clear that the series has been carefully planned and plotted from the beginning, and the author deftly wraps up a number of loose ends in one swoop. I have to give Harris credit - coincidences that might have strained credulity were made believable, and almost all the characters that appear on the pages of this installment are pretty fully realized.
Great ending for a great series! I really really enjoyed this series by Charliane!! Glad things got resolved the way they did!:)
